Thank You for visiting the San Diego Bahá'í
website. This is the place where you can learn more about
the San Diego Bahá'í community, its activities, and how
to get in touch with us.
The name, Bahá'í (pronounced "ba-ha-e"),
means "follower of Baha'u'llah". Bahá'ís are part of a world-wide
community of faith, devoted to God and service to mankind.
There are approximately 6 million Bahá'ís in over 232 sovereign
countries and territories across the globe. In just over
a hundred and fifty years the Bahá'í Faith has become the
world's second most widespread religion in the world.
The Bahá'í family in San Diego comprises
people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Inspired
by belief in the oneness of humanity, the oneness of religion
and the oneness of God, Bahá'ís come together for devotional,
community, and humanitarian activities. Together we are
striving to build a community that demonstrates practical
solutions to the challenges of modern society. We believe
that our experience is a source of optimism for all who
share our vision of humanity as one global family, and the
earth as one homeland.
The Bahá'í Faith is administered by elected
bodies at local, national and international levels. It does
not have clergy or individuals in positions of personal
leadership. We therefore promote personal investigation
and questioning and hope that you will find these pages
as a good starting point to your search. The information
on these pages is updated often. We hope that you will enjoy
the information currently put together here, and we look
forward to hearing your suggestions and ideas. We appreciate
your visit, and invite you back to come and visit us again.
